There are many reasons why Parkdale is one of the most popular neighbourhoods in Toronto, including its mix of real estate opportunities ranging from single family mansions to apartment complexes among other options.

To go along with a variety of homes for sale, Parkdale is home to a well known shopping district while also being within walking distance of many outdoor activities including waterfront parks.

History
In the late 1800’s, Parkdale was one of the most desirable neighbourhoods in Toronto. This was due in large part to the housing stock, as well as Sunnyside Amusement Park located on the local beaches.

During the 1950’s, Sunnyside was shut down and the area went through a brief period of decline. Fortunately, people are once again beginning to realize that Parkdale is a great place to live.

Homes
Many of the largest homes in Parkdale were built during the 1870’s, 1880’s, and 1890’s. Along with these homes, there are many others that were originally constructed during the early 1900’s.
