As a middle income, family oriented neighbourhood, Amesbury has become one of the hottest real estate markets in Toronto.

Not only are the homes in the area affordable, but the small size makes for a close-knit environment. Along with this, the community is home to a public library, well-known schools, and multiple sports clubs.

On top of everything else, Amesbury is full of mature trees, wooded lots, and rolling hills – all of which make living in the area more enjoyable.

History
In 1804, John Denison was the first settler of what is now known as Amesbury. His family owned the property for more than 100 years, until the early 1930’s.

At this point, the neighbourhood as it is seen today was subdivided for development. Soon enough, during the 1940’s, the first homes in Amesbury were constructed.

Homes
The majority of the homes in Amesbury were built during the 1950’s and 1960’s, and consist primarily of one and a half story dwellings and bungalows.

There are older homes in the area as well, with most of these located west of Black Creek Drive. These homes were constructed during the 1940’s for those returning from World War II.
