Located in the south-west sector of Toronto, Alderwood is an established family neighbourhood that attracts many residents thanks to its home and school association, great location, and variety of amenities.

The Sir Adam Beck Centre is one of the nicest recreational facilities in the city. In addition to a new primary school, the establishment also includes a community room, library, fitness room, and swimming pool.

History
In the early years, Alderwood was known as New Toronto Heights or New Toronto Park.

By the 1920’s, many of the farms that previously made up the area were subdivided for the construction of homes. That being said, most of the development throughout Alderwood did not occur until after World War II.

In 1933, the area became known as Alderwood.

Homes
The streets of Alderwood are lined with a variety of homes, including both bungalows and story and a half dwellings. The majority of the homes were constructed between the 1920’s and 1950’s, however, many of the older properties have been replaced by newer homes.
