If beauty and exclusivity are on your mind, Guildwood Village is a neighbourhood to consider. From the main entrance to the neatly maintained streets, it is easy to see why this community is considered one of the best in Toronto.
The Guildwood Village community association helps organize a variety of events throughout the year, while also creating a newsletter to keep residents up to date on the latest goings on.
History
The history of Guildwood Village dates back to 1932 when The Guild Inn was founded as a local retreat.
In the 1950’s, the owners of The Guild Inn sold 400 acres of their property to developers who immediately began to construct the neighbourhood as it is seen today.
Homes
There are a variety of homes located in Guildwood Village, most of which were built in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Along with these older properties, there are many modern custom homes in the community as well.
During the early development of Guildwood Village, a bylaw was passed prohibiting the removal of tall trees from properties. For this reason, tree-lined streets have become one of the most distinguishing features of the neighbourhood.
Some of the homes located on the south side of Guildwood Parkway have a view of Lake Ontario, making them among the most desirable in the area.
Pricing
Despite the many benefits Guildwood Village has to offer residents, home prices remain affordable ranging from $300,000 to $600,000.
