While many communities in Toronto are well known for offering nothing more than older homes, the same cannot be said for Willowdale. History

Although Willowdale has gone through many renovations and updates over the years, it was actually settled in 1797, making it one of the oldest neighbourhoods in the city.

David Gibson helped get Willowdale up and running, building his home in the community in 1851.

The Gibson House is still standing after more than 150 years in existence. It is located at 5172 Yonge Street and now serves as a museum.

With a nice mix of older and newer construction homes, Willowdale is unique in its real estate offerings.

The tree lined streets enhance the curb appeal, helping draw the eyes to the many homes that were originally built in the 1940’s and 50’s. While some of these homes have been destroyed to make way for new construction, those that are left share a long history.
