Despite the fact that the location of North Toronto has changed within Toronto’s boundaries (1998), the benefits of living in the area remain the same.

While there are a variety of types living in North Toronto, it is extremely popular among those who are raising small children. Over the years, families have fallen in love with the selection of homes, variety of educational opportunities, access to parks, and close proximity to Toronto’s transit system.

History

Since its incorporation in 1890, North Toronto has undergone some major changes. In the early days, the neighbourhood was primarily used for farming. However, this changed soon enough as homes began to pop up in the late 1890’s.

After voting for annexation to the City of Toronto in 2912, North Toronto experienced even more growth. This lead to the community becoming developed by the 1940’s.

Homes

There are a variety of homes available in North Toronto, ranging from detached to semi-detached to bungalows.

The majority of the properties in the community were constructed between 1910 and 1940. Along with these homes, newer apartment buildings, including luxury condos, are available.

One of the most noticeable features of North Toronto is the pride of ownership of those living in the community. This includes both the properties and the neighbourhood in general.
