Don Mills has long been known as one of the most popular neighbourhoods in Toronto. Along with a large selection of homes, the community has plenty of historical value thanks to landmarks such as Edwards Gardens and Donalda Golf and Country Club.
Although Don Mills has a rich history, many of the old elements of the community have been upgraded. For example, the Don Mills Shopping Center, built in the 1960’s, has been replaced by a more modern experience.
To go along with its great location, Don Mills is home to a variety of restaurants as well as a large number of community events throughout the year.
History
As the name suggests, Don Mills references the Don River, which runs through the area.
Don Mills holds the distinction of being known as the first planned post-war community in all of North America. With this in mind, many other neighbourhoods in Toronto took cues from Don Mills during development.
Homes
Although the homes in Don Mills are located on large lots with tree-lined streets, it has a “city feel” thanks to the close proximity to restaurants, shopping, and so much more.
In addition to single family homes, semi-detached starter homes are sought after by many looking to move into the community.
