Located in the North York area of Toronto, Clanton Park is one of the most desirable neighbourhoods in the city. Also known as Wilson Heights and Dublin Heights, those who live in this community enjoy the great location, cultural diversity, and variety of local activities and events.
Despite the fact that Clanton Park is home to one of the largest Jewish populations in Toronto, many other groups live in the area including but not limited to those of Russian and Italian backgrounds.
History
While the area has not always been known as Clanton Park, it dates back to 1827 when William Duncan, an Ireland linen merchant, settled here. Over the years, Duncan was responsible for developing the area, which included the Dublin Schoolhouse constructed in 1872.
In the early 1900’s, homes began to pop up in many parts of the community.
Homes
The homes in Clanton Park are varied. From small bungalows built in the 1950s to modern condos, perfect for first time buyers, the real estate market has plenty to offer.
Additionally, low income high rise housing is scattered throughout some areas of Clanton Park.
