Another glorious weekend awaits us and the Toronto patios are calling us to enjoy a bottle of suds while taking in a World Cup soccer game. Although I’m not a big soccer fan, it’s hard not to get excited and drawn in by the energy that is created around the city as everyone cheers on their team. Many adopt a team for the tournament and are just as passionate for the 3 weeks of Futeball. I cheer for whichever teams my sons’ route for. Right now it’s Mexico (I can’t figure out why?). Of course being of Italian and Portuguese background they route for those teams as well but not out loud as they are scared to see their teams possibly lose.

Buyers will typically sue sellers in Small Claims Court over problems that arise after closing when the amount in dispute is $25,000 or less. The main reason is that you can make the claim without a lawyer and the costs are relatively cheap. However, you are much better off using a lawyer or paralegal to represent you.

That is, short supply and much more demand. I am expecting a slight summer slowdown in over all transactions as the summer months come upon us. This has been the norm.

Toronto Real Estate Board President Dianne Usher announced that both the number of home sales through the TorontoMLS system and the average selling price were up strongly in May compared to a year ago. Total TorontoMLS sales for May 2014 amounted to 11,079 – a new high for the month of May.

Toronto Real Estate Board President Dianne Usher announced that during April – the first full month of spring – Greater Toronto REALTORS® reported a 1.8 per cent year-over-year increase in sales through the TorontoMLS system. Total April 2014 sales amounted to 9,706, compared to 9,535 transactions in April 2013.
