Dorset Park

Dorset Park

As far as culturally diverse middle income communities are concerned, there are not many in Toronto with more to offer than Dorset Park. Over the past few years, a growing number of older residents have moved out of the neighbourhood in favor of younger families with children.

Many large companies are stationed on the boundaries of Dorset Park, including Laura Secord and Kraft Foods, which once again shows the diversity of the area.

History

During the 1800’s, Dorset Park was part of Ellesmere. During this time, the area was well known for being home to many popular sports teams.

In the 1950’s, the Dorset Park subdivision originated and development of the neighbourhood as it is seen today began.

Homes

The homes of Dorset Park were originally constructed in the 1950’s. In addition to a small sampling of semi-detached properties, the neighbourhood is home to a variety of one and a half story homes and bungalows – most of which have been kept up nicely over the years.

The Birchmount and Ellesmere Roads area of Dorset Park was recently developed with modern properties, including both detached and semi-detached homes.

Pricing

Homes in Dorset Park are reasonably priced at $200,000 on the low end ranging from $400,000 on the high end of the market.
