Good morning everyone;
Let’s reflect and be truly thankful for the blessings we all have.
In the market
Every month it’s been the same message now month after month… the market continues to rise.

Construction Blog # 12
After all these years with all my quirks it turns out that I have “truss issues”! Of course, the roof was supposed to be completed 3 weeks ago. I was then promised trusses for Oct 7th! Yesterday came and went and now I’m told October 16th . These trusses have literally delayed me almost 6 months in total. L The sad part is that I have no recourse. At this point I can’t simply go to another company. I’m stuck at the mercy of the construction gods.
I have no roof (see picture attached). Without a roof the windows will not be installed. The brick layers won’t start until the windows are installed and so on and so on…..
The carpenters have left my site to tackle another home while I wait for the truss system. Today was a glorious sunny day and the only work performed was the cleaning up of the job site (I swept and packed garbage).
I’m singing to myself “The roof, the roof, the roof is on…. Wait- where’s the roof?”
Today I met with the contracted company who will run the water lines and sewers for the city to the property line. Of course they flagged several concerns (issues).
The next 6 weeks are extremely critical. If things fall into place I will be able to carry on with the inside work. If not, the home will have to get tarped up and I will have to carry on with the brick work in the spring. That’s about another 4-6 months delay. My in-laws are fabulous but I think we may literally drive them crazy!
Roller coaster ride of stress
Stay tuned…
Have a wonderful thanksgiving!
GO JAYS GO!
