History
Many years ago, this community was known as Omimeca or “the resting place of wild pigeons.” While its name has changed over the years, the area itself has remained popular among locals.

Mimico is one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Toronto, dating back to its early development in the 1890’s. While some of the original homes are still standing, many were torn down when heavy residential development began following World War II.
