From its lakefront parks to its great location, those who live in Mimico find that it is easy to enjoy life.
In addition to a train station in the community, Mimico is only a short drive from downtown. This makes it a great place for working class professionals to live.
Every year, Mimico sponsors a variety of events ranging from the Lakeshore Community Festival to the Mimico Festival.
History
Many years ago, this community was known as Omimeca or “the resting place of wild pigeons.” While its name has changed over the years, the area itself has remained popular among locals.
Mimico is one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Toronto, dating back to its early development in the 1890’s. While some of the original homes are still standing, many were torn down when heavy residential development began following World War II.
Homes
With its desirable waterfront location, there is no wondering why Mimico is an up and coming neighbourhood attracting people from all walks of life.
There are many types of homes for sale in this community, including: one and a half story, semi-detached starter homes, and detached two story homes.
