The Beach

The Beach

Despite the fact that The Beach has more of a resort town feel, when you live in this community you will fall in love with the location, amenities, and so much more.

During the summer months, tourists from near and far visit The Beach to stroll on the boardwalk, take in some outdoor activities, and simply relax with friends and family.

Adding to the excitement of living in this neighbourhood is Kew Gardens. Throughout the year it transforms into a venue for everything from an Arts and Crafts show to a music festival and much more.

Some people call this neighbourhood The Beach while others refer to it as Beaches. Either way, it doesn’t change what the area has to offer its residents and visitors.

History

The Beach was settled in 1793 by the Ashbridge family. Up until the late 1800’s the area was used for farming, however, it was then subdivided which led to home lots and park space being designated throughout the community.

Thanks to its great location, The Beach has long been one of the most popular neighbourhoods in Toronto.

Homes

When it comes to architectural variety, there are not many communities in Toronto that have as much to offer as The Beach.

While the majority of the homes in the community were constructed during the 1920’s and 1930’s, some of the original beach cottages from the late 1800’s to early 1900’s are still standing.

Pricing

The architectural detail of the homes in The Beach, coupled with its prime location, have  pushed home prices to the upper end of the Toronto real estate market.
