Located north east of Toronto, Malvern has been able to retain its rural history by preserving local parklands and woodlots that have been destroyed in many surrounding communities.

History
Malvern dates back to 1856, when the Malvern Post Office was opened.

In addition to becoming a well known railway centre, it was one of the top farming communities in the area for more than 100 years.

During the 1950’s, the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation took over some of the local land. This led to a development of affordable homes, eventually leading to the first residents moving to the area in 1972.

The majority of the homes in Malvern were constructed from the 1970’s through the 1990’s. In terms of housing styles, it is one of the most diverse areas in Toronto with detached homes, semi-detached homes, townhouses, and apartment buildings.
